![]() ![]() So best advice I can give is to ignore what the indicator is telling you and listen to what your common sense is telling you that your lure is doing. However, being a lifelong angler means I fully understand what my lure is doing at all times and depths ( regardless of type ), whereas non anglers who just play the game for fun may depend on that indicator. I simply ignore the indicator and continued fishing as normal, with no change to my catch rates. Spoons also appear to stay midwater and then suddenly dive to the deck halfway through a retrieve. Crankbaits in particular seem to behave very strangely on the indicator with anything over a 6 foot crank apparently diving to the deck and staying there. ![]() Hey fella, what I find personally is that the lure indicator doesn't reflect what the lure is actually doing, especially on deeper venues like Alberta and Mich. I broke down and got the Sport Heavy Casting package but it only casts 100 feet. Should the lure go all the way down to the bottom? Stop and go and twitch all look very strange. No other fish in the lake gets anywhere near as large as the largest lake trout. ![]() In Colorado they strike fast at flies, grasshoppers and mayflies. Float fishing for trout in Oregon is harder than float fishing for trout in Colorado. The latter bait is better because you wont catch any normal fish. In response to a viewer request (Bear Lambert), I took it upon myself to demonstrate how players can easily grind XP by float-fishing White Suckers when. If you're not targeting lake trout, this setup is fine. Cast to the end of the patch of weed to between 55 and 80ft. I thought I had improved my lure retrieves but Alberta is confusing me. You can probably get away with a 9.1 kg line/setup, but it will be potentially very hard to reel in trophies and uniques of this species. ![]()
